INDEPENDENT: Beyond The Red and Blue Partisan
Ft. Adam Brandon
Voting beyond the red and blue has increasingly become a challenge in our highly partisan system. The situation worsens when states restrict voters from participating in important issues unless they are registered with the Democrat or Republican parties. So, the key question is: What is Independent Voting, and why is it more important now than ever? Your vote should represent your genuine preferences and values, not be limited by arbitrary party lines.
Today, we’re joined by Adam Brandon from the Independent Center to discuss the importance of non-partisan voting and making choices based on personal values rather than party loyalty.
Brandon is a dedicated political bridge builder and Senior Advisor at the Independent Center, working to unite Americans who share a vision for the country's future. Rooted in a diverse family history and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he’s experienced firsthand how policies impact everyday lives. With extensive experience in foreign and domestic policy, including leadership at FreedomWorks and work with the U.S. State Department, he holds three master’s degrees. Believing now is a crucial moment to prioritize the nation’s needs over politics, he works to empower the 40% of Americans who feel politically homeless and is co-authoring his third book to amplify their voices. Living in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and children, Brandon enjoys hiking, traveling, wine, and sports—despite his Cleveland Browns’ strained relationship.
Independent voters are now the third force in American politics.
To win, Republicans and Democrats now rely on independent voters to swing their way. Since neither party has enough base support, independent voters are in a powerful position.
It's time we organize.
The Independent Center’s mission is to be the resource hub and champion for the millions of Americans who believe we share common ground.
Through our research, events, and outreach we will highlight, promote, and ensure our politicians are held accountable for their promises to independent voters and all Americans.
